A picturesque tee shot. Lay up short of the central rock and tree outcrop, to leave a flighted short iron second.
PAR: 4 SI: 4
338 317 302 275
OB right is the danger of the tee. A long uphill second leaves a short pitch over a nest of sand traps
PAR: 5 SI: 6
512 476 456 426
Anything straight is good off the tee! The green faces you, so pitch your second up to the flag.
PAR: 4 SI: 10
339 309 307 284
Think of leaving an uphill putt on this testing par 3.
PAR: 3 SI: 16
186 162 130 115
Nice and wide for the drive. Stay a little left for the approach shot.
PAR: 4 SI: 2
365 342 322 308
Drive needs accuracy, the rest is wide enought to open the shoulders.
PAR: 5 SI: 14
475 416 391 358
Looks shorter than it is. Big green.
PAR: 3 SI: 12
179 153 137 126
Best not to cut the corner. Easy par 4, if you are on the right of the fairway with the drive.
PAR: 4 SI: 18
289 263 242 206
Very nice hole, don't try to get to far with the drive, stay left everything rolls down to the fairway.
PAR: 4 SI: 8
366 314 293 264
What a hole! Don't be too big.
PAR: 3 SI: 9
173 148 134 106
One of the most interesting holes. Don't try to bite of to much fairway. You know the saying everything goes with the water.
PAR: 4 SI: 13
374 309 295 278
Straight forward hole. Sand protects the green.
PAR: 5 SI: 3
484 433 427 409
Wide open fairway but with a hidden green playing uphill.
PAR: 4 SI: 15
360 327 310 271
Drive right of the rock outcrop and then use your best distance judgement for this downhill pitch.
PAR: 4 SI: 7
347 321 305 282
Not a long shot but requires a clean strike or you may visit the water hazard.
PAR: 3 SI: 17
178 169 150 132
Gamble on a long straight tee shot and you can have an easy second. A lay up short of the bunkers & drystone wall is safer.
PAR: 4 SI: 1
376 353 341 325
Just hit the fairwayoff the tee! The second shot is not long.
PAR: 4 SI: 11
284 268 246 217
Reach the end of the left hand rock wall and you have a chance at the green.
PAR: 5 SI: 5

After his success designing the Vale de Pinta course, Ronald Fream teamed up with the former world No. 1 Nick Price to create the unique design of Gramacho. With 18 holes and 27 greens, plus numerous different tee points, players are able to enjoy the same course time and time again but always with slightly different challenges.

Having hosted the Portuguese Ladies Open on a number of occasions Pestana Gramacho is recognized as a championship course enjoyable and playable even by those with a higher handicap.

Apart from the fantastic golf design, Ronald and Nick managed to incorporate the traditional landscape by utilizing the natural stone outcrops, historical dry stone walling and existing ancient trees with some artfully sculpted lakes and bunkers. The effect is a wonderful journey through the countryside.

The Gramacho Clubhouse, located in the heart of the resort, offers a full complement of services such as:
  • Club and buggy rental.
  • Changing facilities.
  • Restaurant and Bar, which boasts the most spectacular view on the misty blue backdrop of the Monchique Mountains, as well as views to the fairway overlooking the 18th hole.
  • Full reception facilities
  • Putting green.
  • Buggy Bar.
  • The Pro Shop with well known international golf brands.
The golf reception is open every day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m in the winter, and to 9 p.m. in the summer .
